In the proof of Theorem 5 of my note (D. L. Berman, “Polynomial operations commuting with a shift”), published in Doklady Akademii Nauk, vol. 144, no. 3, 1962, in the right-hand sides of equalities (14), (\widetilde U_n) was printed; it should be (U_n). To correct the proof, the last two lines on page 469 should be replaced by the following two lines:
