CORRECTIONS

In the article by G. A. Konkova, “On the connection between the newest and modern tectonic movements and methane-bearing and outburst zones under the conditions of the Donets Basin,” published in DAN, vol. 143, No. 3, 1962, in Fig. 1, instead of the printed “Kuznetsk,” one should read “Donetsk.”

In my article (N. P. Korneichuk, “On the existence of a linear polynomial operator giving the best approximation on a class of functions”), published in DAN, vol. 143, No. 1, 1962, the following corrections must be made:

On p. 26, line 17 from the bottom, in the left-hand side of the equality, the printed expression \(\|\bar u_n(\varphi,x)\varphi(x)\|\) should read \(\|\bar u_n(\varphi,x)-\varphi(x)\|\).

On p. 27, line 27, it should be: … with length greater than \(\dfrac{\pi}{n+1}(1-\varepsilon)\), where \(\varepsilon>0\) and does not depend on \(n\).
