CORRECTION
In my article (B. M. Schein, “On subdirectly indecomposable semigroups”), published in DAN, vol. 144, no. 5, 1962, there is an inaccuracy: the corollary to Theorem 7 should be formulated as follows:
Corollary. The set of noninvertible elements of a subdirectly indecomposable finite commutative semigroup is empty or forms a nilpotent subsemigroup. The set of invertible elements is empty or forms a subdirectly indecomposable subgroup isomorphic to a group of the form \(Z_{p^\alpha}\).
